An original watercolor and gouache ACEO painting. Hylas was one of the Argonauts, He was either the the son of King Theiodamas or Heracles, who had an affair with Theiodamas' wife. Theiodamas was killed by Heracles in battle. Hethen took Hylas on the Argo with him. Hylas was later kidnapped by the nymph Dryope who had fallen in love with him and though Heracles left the Argo to search for him, he was never found. It is painted on 140lb watercolor paper and is 2.5 x 3.5 inches. It is signed on the front and signed and dated on the reverse.
